A few snaps from our first night! the twinkling lights were so pretty!
The afternoon consisted of a visit the imfamous Tour Eiffel, which is definitely as beautiful in real life, and oozed a certain magic in the night! We watched the light show which was truly magnificent ... I'm a sucker for any fairy light, so you can imagine my delight when the whole Eiffel tower lit up! To round off our first day we headed for dinner at a little Pizzeria just around the corner from the Eiffel Tower, we each enjoyed a large Pizza each (yes each all that traveling made us hungry!)
Tuesday we were up bright and early to visit Montmartre where you can find not only the captivating Sacreour cour but an abondance of fabric shops perfect for us girls studying textiles! After having a mooch around buying materials, taking in the Sacreour cour and all its beautiful views we headed off to the Musee des arts Decoratives, Mode et Textile a textile gallery right next to the Musée du Louvre.
Views from the Sacreour cour
Apart from its historical pieces, the Musée de la Mode et du Textile also has collections of the work of great designers such as Paul Poiret, Madeleine Vionnet, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Christian Dior in the fashion field, and for textiles, Raoul Dufy, Sonia Delaunay or the embroiderer Rébé, to name just a few! Although upon arrival we found the collection we wanted to see was closed that day! Not letting it ruin our afternoon we continued on our journey (stopping to take some silly pictures outside the Lourve on the way)
Hattie and I taking sight seeing very seriously!
We spent the rest of our day visiting galleries such as Musee Quai Branly and some of Paris' gorgeous bridges; Pont des Arts being the one shown below, with all of the named padlocks we even added our own!
Wednesday was our own day to explore We managed to visit Museum National D'histore Naturelle for some history, The Avenue des Champs-Élysées for some shopping, he Eiffel Tower (how could we possibly not?!) ...and hot chocolate/ cakes in The Ladurée.
|Having a Marilyn moment!|
